Cognizant, the Nasdaq-listed US technology services company, has been selected as a strategic partner by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a multilateral development bank headquartered in London, to support its Tech Blueprint technology transformation programme. The five-year framework matters to the sector because it pairs outcome-led managed services with proprietary AI tools in a single long-term engagement.
The Tech Blueprint is the bank’s technology transformation programme, focused on efficiency, effectiveness and innovation through digitally enabled processes powered by AI, data and intelligent automation. Cognizant’s selection follows its appointment by Ingenico as global strategic technology partner under a separate five-year agreement announced on 20 October.
Cognizant aims to deliver services across two models, outcome-led managed services and fixed-capacity services, spanning digital and workplace management, cloud infrastructure, data and security, software engineering, automation and AI. The framework also includes a programme of continuous improvement and innovation intended to strengthen resilience and deliver measurable value over time.
Cognizant plans to bring three proprietary AI solutions: Neuro IT Operations for visibility across the technology estate and faster issue resolution, Flowsource for generative and agentic AI across the software development lifecycle, and WorkNEXT for AI-powered voice, translation and agent-enabled support in workplace management.
These efforts are expected to strengthen service reliability, expand access to specialist skills, improve operational efficiency and support the continued evolution of the bank’s technology capabilities.
Rohit Gupta, UK&I Managing Director at Cognizant, said: “As an AI Builder, Cognizant’s role is to help clients turn their technology investments into dependable operations and measurable outcomes, and that only happens when services are made to work across the complexity of a real enterprise estate.”
Gupta added: “By combining our decades of industry experience, end-to-end systems integration expertise, and AI-enabled operational capabilities within a collaborative framework, we will help the EBRD run its critical technology services with confidence.”
The structural driver is demand for managed services that combine outcome-led and fixed-capacity delivery, with AI tooling applied to service management, software engineering and workplace operations.
For the sector, the framework shows large technology services providers anchoring multi-year client relationships in proprietary AI platforms alongside managed services.
