US data centre company Digital Realty has announced the establishment of its Malaysia platform, planning to develop and scale data centre capacity to approximately 32 megawatts across a multi-site campus in Cyberjaya, as it expands its Asia Pacific footprint to serve growing enterprise demand for hybrid and AI-driven digital infrastructure.
The launch, reported by Manila Times, was marked by an inauguration ceremony attended by Digital Realty leadership and senior representatives from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.
The Cyberjaya campus is planned as a three-facility deployment, with all sites connected via dedicated fibre, and is purpose-built to support Malaysian enterprises as they transition from traditional IT environments to hybrid architectures and AI-enabled operations at scale.
The platform is designed to integrate Malaysia into Digital Realty's global interconnection infrastructure, which operates on carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral principles intended to support resilience, scale and flexibility for enterprise and hyperscaler customers across multiple markets and geographies.
Serene Nah, managing director and head of Asia Pacific at Digital Realty, attended the inauguration alongside Govind Choudhary, General Manager for Southeast Asia and India, alongside Billy Lee, Chairman of CSF Advisers and advisor for Digital Realty in Malaysia, underscoring the strategic weight the company places on the Malaysia platform within its broader Asia Pacific growth plans.
Malaysia has been actively positioning itself as a regional digital infrastructure and AI hub, with national investment bodies and digital economy agencies playing a central role in attracting data centre operators and cloud providers. The country's stable regulatory environment and strong connectivity infrastructure have made it an increasingly attractive destination for large-scale digital investment across Southeast Asia.
Digital Realty describes itself as the world's largest cloud and carrier-neutral data centre platform, with an established presence spanning North America, Europe and Asia Pacific serving enterprises of all sizes.
