Kerry-based publishing company Educate.ie has launched EdPal, a digital learning platform for secondary schools, alongside plans to create 50 positions over three years, according to Silicon Republic.
Founded in 2009 by Tony and Patricia Walsh in Castleisland, Educate.ie produces learning materials for secondary school students. The platform is currently under development through pilot programmes in post-primary schools, where teachers provide feedback on functionality and classroom application.
EdPal delivers interactive e-books, educational resources and tools supporting lesson delivery, engagement and assessment for post-primary students. The platform aims to reduce administrative workload for teachers, improve clarity for parents and provide students with consistent learning experiences.
Sinead Keogh, Director of Publishing at Educate.ie, said: "Teachers are under constant pressure to balance curriculum delivery, assessment and communication with students and families. What we heard again and again was the need for tools that are practical, intuitive and genuinely aligned with how Irish classrooms work. EdPal was built around that reality."
The expansion includes a new headquarters at Dundrum Business Park. The 50 positions will span technology, content development, customer support and education sectors, supporting the platform's development and implementation across Irish secondary schools.
The initiative follows recent edtech investment activity in Ireland. In mid-January, Dublin-based AICertified secured €1 million in funding led by Oyster Capital with Enterprise Ireland support. The company, established by Digital Marketing Institute co-founder Ian Dodson, aims to create global certification standards for AI skills.
Educate.ie's digital platform positions the company to expand its presence in Ireland's secondary education technology sector while addressing practical classroom requirements identified through teacher consultations.
