Irish managed IT services company IT.ie is investing €3.5 million in a major expansion programme that will create 50 new jobs over the next three years as it opens a new headquarters in Dublin.

The investment will support growth in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and AI-enabled technology services, with plans to increase its workforce from 60 to 110 employees by the end of 2029.

The announcement coincides with the opening of IT.ie's new 12,000 sq ft headquarters at Dublin Airport Logistics Park, and follows IT.ie's 2025 acquisition of south Dublin-based Abacus Systems in a self-funded, seven-figure deal independent of private equity. Integration of the two businesses is now complete, with all operations brought together under the unified IT.ie brand, strengthening the company's capabilities in highly regulated sectors.

The expansion targets annual revenues of €20 million by the end of 2029, up from approximately €11 million today, with new roles spanning technology, sales, marketing, finance and service delivery. IT.ie, founded in 2004 by Eamon Gallagher, said further acquisitions remain a possibility alongside organic growth.

The structural driver is the compounding regulatory and cybersecurity burden created by widespread AI adoption, which is pushing mid-sized managed service providers to expand compliance and governance capability alongside core IT support rather than treating it as a specialist add-on.

For the sector, this signals continued consolidation among Irish managed service providers, with acquisition-led scale increasingly paired with organic hiring as firms compete to become trusted AI governance partners for regulated clients.
