Global technology service provider Logicalis has launched Ireland's first enterprise Private 5G service following an €8 million investment, becoming the first digital infrastructure specialist in the Irish market capable of designing, deploying and managing Private 5G networks for enterprise customers at scale.

The announcement, reported by Logicalis, follows a landmark regulatory change by ComReg enabling organisations beyond traditional telecommunications providers to access dedicated Private 5G spectrum for the first time, establishing an entirely new enterprise connectivity market in Ireland.

The €8 million investment covers the technology, infrastructure, research and development and expertise required to support rapid rollout of Private 5G infrastructure across Ireland. Logicalis is delivering the service in partnership with technology vendors including Cisco, Nokia and Neutral Wireless, with an end-to-end offering spanning network design, radio planning, deployment, security and integration alongside fully managed services.

Private 5G gives organisations complete control over their wireless infrastructure, delivering secure, low-latency connectivity across large operational sites where conventional Wi-Fi or public cellular networks may be unable to meet business-critical requirements. The technology supports a new generation of connected operations including robotics, industrial AI, autonomous vehicles, IoT devices, edge computing and real-time operational analytics.

Target sectors for the Irish rollout include manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, logistics, ports, utilities and higher education, where large-scale operational sites and complex connectivity requirements make dedicated wireless infrastructure particularly valuable.
