Nory, an Irish-founded restaurant operations software company, has opened a New York headquarters and launched plans to expand across the United States as restaurant operators navigate sustained labour and food cost pressures, according to IT Brief UK.

Founded in 2021 and based in London, Nory provides a platform consolidating workforce management, inventory, payroll and business intelligence into a single system. The company will begin with early US customers before expanding nationwide across all 50 states later this year.

The New York office is located in downtown Manhattan near the New York Stock Exchange. Founder and Chief Executive Conor Sheridan will relocate to lead the US team.

Industry research shows nearly nine in ten operators reported higher labour costs in 2024, while over four in five experienced rising food costs. The same research found 42% of restaurants were unprofitable last year.

Conor Sheridan said: "US restaurant operators are under intense pressure from rising costs and staffing complexity, so we're giving them a system that doesn't just report on what happened; it helps them plan what's next."

The software draws on historical sales and operational data, providing real-time reporting and recommendations while automating routine back-office tasks. Nory states restaurant teams can save over 100 hours of administrative work per site monthly, with customers typically cutting operating costs by nearly 20% and increasing core net profits by up to 50%.

Initial US customers include Black Sheep Coffee, Roasting Plant Coffee, With Love, Always and Singas Pizza. Early clients reported halving food waste, achieving labour savings of 8% to 20%, and increasing net profit by 50%.

Nory has raised $63 million (€54.21 million) total funding, including a $37 million (€31.84 million) Series B round led by Kinnevik.
