Philippine telecommunications company PLDT Enterprise has partnered with telecom software provider 6D Technologies to enhance its Internet of Things service portfolio through 6D Technologies' IoT Connectivity Management Platform, targeting large-scale connected device deployments across enterprise and SME customers in the Philippines.
The development, reported by Telecom Review Asia, covers key platform functions including SIM provisioning, device onboarding, usage monitoring, billing automation and self-service management.
The partnership is designed to support IoT deployments across logistics, manufacturing, utilities, retail and public services, with potential applications spanning fleet tracking, smart metering, industrial automation, cold-chain monitoring, smart surveillance and connected vehicle services.
Nico Alcoseba, First Vice President and Head of Product Management and Innovation at PLDT Enterprise, said: "By enhancing our IoT platform capabilities, we are better positioned to help enterprises adopt connected technologies faster, support new use cases, and build smarter, more responsive operations."
Manish Arora, Executive Director and Chief Revenue Officer at 6D Technologies, said: "The Philippines represents one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic IoT growth markets, and we see this partnership with PLDT Enterprise as a significant step in realising that potential."
The platform is built on Smart's 5G-enabled infrastructure, supporting deployments across both urban and hard-to-reach areas of the Philippines. It also includes analytics tools for device monitoring, anomaly detection and connectivity management, giving enterprise customers greater visibility across their connected device ecosystems.
The partnership is also expected to widen IoT adoption among SMEs and mid-sized enterprises through more flexible service offerings and simplified deployment processes, lowering the barrier to entry for businesses seeking to integrate connected technologies into their operations for the first time.
By combining PLDT Enterprise's national network infrastructure with 6D Technologies' platform capabilities, the companies aim to position the Philippines as a more competitive environment for enterprise IoT adoption across Southeast Asia.
