US-based identity verification and authentication company Prove is committing $5 million (€4.2m) to scale its Dublin research and development hub, with 50 new positions to be filled across product, software engineering, research and development, and data science.

According to Business Plus, the investment is designed to reinforce Ireland's position as a central pillar of the company's product development, culture and international growth strategy.

The expansion reflects growing urgency across the sector: more than 2.2 billion digital identities have been compromised globally since January 2022, placing renewed pressure on enterprises to address fraud at scale. The scale of identity-related breaches has prompted businesses across financial services, healthcare and commerce to accelerate investment in authentication infrastructure as a boardroom priority.

Prove established its Irish operations in 2022 and has grown its local headcount by 50% in the past six months alone. Over the past year, the Irish team contributed directly to the launch of several new solutions, including Prove Unified Authentication, ProveX and Prove Verified Agent, alongside platform elements such as the Global Fraud Policy and the Prove Identity Graph.

New hires are expected to accelerate delivery of faster, safer and more frictionless digital identity experiences for businesses and consumers worldwide. Prove's technology is deployed by thousands of enterprises globally, spanning top banks, fintechs and major brands across crypto, gaming, commerce, insurance and healthcare.

"The growth of our Ireland team has been an important chapter in Prove's journey," said Laura Brittingham, senior vice president of people at Prove.
