Lauded for its bold and creative solutions in 2025, The University of Limerick’s Information Technology Division secured the Best Digital Transformation – Public Sector Award at the Digital Transformation & AI Awards 2025 for its ambitious programme to modernise device management in support of the university’s growth and readiness for the AI age.
Built around a comprehensive and carefully phased strategy, the programme addressed multiple technical areas while ensuring continuity of service and strong user adoption. By placing digital innovation at the core of its operational model, the IT Division delivered a scalable foundation that supports both academic and administrative functions, while strengthening cyber resilience across the campus.
Judges highlighted the clarity of planning and the measurable outcomes achieved through the transformation, noting significant time savings and strong compliance results. The initiative delivered over 2,000 hours of staff time savings and achieved 96% compliance, demonstrating how well-executed digital programmes can drive tangible efficiency gains in the public sector.
