Vertiv Holdings has announced a 300-person expansion at its Letterkenny, Co. Donegal facility, submitting a planning application to Donegal County Council for an additional 7,000 sq m of manufacturing and testing space. The investment is IDA Ireland-supported and the capital cost is not disclosed.
Vertiv Holdings Co (NYSE: VRT) is a Westerville, Ohio-headquartered global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, operating in more than 130 countries. For FY2025, Vertiv reported net sales of $10.23 billion, up 27.7% year on year, and is guiding FY2026 net sales of $13.25 to $13.75 billion, implying organic growth of 27 to 29%. Organic orders accelerated 60% year on year in Q3 2025 with a $7.9 billion backlog.
In Ireland, Vertiv operates facilities in Letterkenny and Burnfoot in Co. Donegal, Campsie in Co. Derry, Limerick and Dublin, having hired more than 500 people across Irish sites since January 2026. Irish-specific revenue and EBITDA are not separately disclosed.
The structural driver is AI data centre demand translating directly into manufacturing capacity requirements for thermal management, power management and containment equipment, what Vertiv's Donegal facilities produce.
Vertiv's EMEA operations are being refocused to capitalise on improving EMEA market conditions expected in the second half of 2026, and the Letterkenny expansion is the physical expression of that reorientation. The Donegal cluster is Vertiv's primary EMEA manufacturing platform for precision cooling and power systems, making it the supply chain anchor for European hyperscale and colocation customers.
The 300 jobs include engineering and operational roles, suggesting the expansion deepens technical capability rather than simply scaling assembly throughput. With 500 Irish hires already completed in the first seven months of 2026, Vertiv is growing its Irish workforce at an accelerated pace relative to any previous comparable period.
For the sector, this is structurally significant: Letterkenny is the largest town in the country most distant from Dublin's FDI concentration, and a 300-person engineering expansion by a NYSE-listed company guiding $13 billion in revenue represents a durable employment anchor for the region's technology skills base.
